MCS1000: Breast Cancer Campaign
4th April 2011Opening: Today was our actual Campaign day! It started off at 1pm infront of the Mansion building where we sold cupcakes and handed out flyers that held information about our campaign and breast cancer. At the same time we had a nurse talking to students female and male students inside Repton building about statistics of breast cancer but also showed the girls how they can check themselves at home infront of the mirror for lumbs and other signs of breast cancer.
We also had Alethea Tshabane, member of the ALT+CTRL+DEL Campaign joining the nurse with one group, where she spoke about how a healthy diet can lower the risks of breast cancer. She also went around campus handing out flyers of the Here and Aware Campaign while telling people key fact about how nutrition an cancer is linked together. At the beginning of our breast cancer campaign we set a task of getting at least 10 people to talk to the nurse to get information on breast cancer, where on our actual campaign day we had 36 people that talked to the nurse. So I would say all in all we had a successful campaign!
