We had our final meeting on 12th April to arrange the date and time for the event at Exposure. It was decided that we would talk to a group of young people aged between 16 and 20 years of age at the youth charity on 21st April at 1.30pm, and whilst we were there would give them each a copy of our campaign's leaflet, offer them refreshments, and ask them to fill out a questionnaire before getting started and a survey after.
I had already contacted a number of voting organisations based in London, including the British Youth Council, Votes At 16 and the UK Youth Parliament, asking if it would be possible for a spokesperson from one of these organisations to attend our event at Exposure on this date. Together, all five of us thought a guest speaker from one of these organisations which specialise in trying to increase the numbers of young people who vote in elections would greatly benefit our campaign.
Three days before the meeting, a representative of the British Youth Council (BYC), Helen Deakin, responded to an email I had sent out. Her response was very positive and she was very happy to help out.
