Statistics on ADHDEdit

Statistics have shown that about 20% of ADHD diagnosed kids suffer learning disabilities and about 80% have academic problems.

In the last 10 years, there was an increase of diagnosed cases which came up to 4% every year. These numbers made ADHD the most prevalent health issue in children.

More than 5 Million kids were diagnosed between the age of 5 and 7 in the year 2009, and about 60% of all ADHD children are in medical treatment (most likely with Ritalin).

Children between the age of 9 and 12 years are the most highly medicated age group. Chances of developing the disorder are two times higher for boys than for girls.
